Abstract:Tang Yinwu derived porous-medium wave equations from Lagrange's motion equations.The wave equations relate useful porous-medium physical parameters to the elastic parameters of wave equations.He also predicted theoretically the patterns for producing three kinds of body waves in porous medium:fast longitudinal wave,slow longitudinal wave and transversal wave.His wave equations may be changed into those in loose porous medium,where only fast longitudinal wave can be produced without slow longitudinal wave and transversal wave,thus leading to the same wave equation forms in compact medium and wet-grained loose medium.Hence we can say that his theory is quite suitable to porous medium.Nevertheless,we can ameliorate Tang Yingwu's wave theory in porous medium by revising the flow-resistance parameter,adopting permeability and obtaining the new Lames coefficients which can be derived from skeleton parameter and fluid physical parameter in porous medium.
