Abstract:The resolution of 2D seismic inversion de-pends on that of the seismic data.So it is difficultto identify the reservoir with the thickness lessthan 5m.Combined with the high-resolution of 3Dgeostatistical inversion and the relationships be-tween 2D and 3D seismic data,we transform 2Dseismic data into pseudo 3D seismic data firstly, then complete the high-resolution geo-statisticalinversion on 2D seismic data by the geo-statisticalinversion algorithm for the 3D seismic data, whichcan effectively improve the vertical resolution of 2Dinversion to meet geological requirements for thevertical resolution of 2D seismic reservoir predic-tion. At the same time, combined with pre-stackAVO elastic wave impedance inversion and thegeostatistical inversion,we can effectively identifythe plane distribution characteristics of thin reser-voirs by 2D seismic data. So we achieved the purposeof predicting thin reservoirs on 2D seismic data.
