Abstract:For denoising from low S/N magnetotelluric data,we introduce in the paper a denoising method based on empirical mode decomposition and wavelet threshold.The paper presents also the principle of method and the calculation steps.Comparing with wavelet transform,the simulation test results prove the reliability of the method.The method is applied in field data acquired from Anhui and Inner Mongolia.The results show that the noise removal method proposed in this paper is effective.MT data become steady after denoising,and the error bar average value of the estimated response curve is decreased,which provide a guarantee for further data processing and interpretation.
