Abstract:Seismic sea-bottom cable technology has showed a great advantage to seismic acquisition in shallow or extreme shallow sea area. It is particular important to get the precise receiver position during sea-bottom cable acquisition as the job's particularity. It directly related with the quality of seismic data. It needs to conduct secondary positioning for receiver in order to get exact receiver position. There are acoustic positioning system and first break positioning system in current secondary positioning system. Analyzing,comparing the principle,advantages and disadvan- tages of these systems and combining real case,the paper proposed the problems needed to pay attention to when supervisors and field-technicians use these secondary positioning systems in process of seismic sea-bottom cable acquisition.
