Abstract:The Zengmu basin is a peripheral foreland basin. It lies at meeting area of two structural elements and underwent strike shift faulting in late period. Its particular structural location and sedimentary environment brought various structural styles, including fault blocks, flowery structure, diapiric structure, inversion structure, buried hills and so on. These geological structures occurred respectively in different geological ages and locations, forming superposition structures, so that they created favourable places where hydrocarbon accumulates. Some main structural styles, their generation mechanism and their relation to hydrocarbon accumulation are approached by interpreting near 10000 km seismic data in west Zengmu basin and analysing relevant regional geological materials.
