Abstract:The method for 3-D velocity computation using spatial mesh is put forward after analysing several time-depth and depth-time conversion methods which are often used in seismic data interpretation. Its principle is to scatter a stratum to a spatial scattering-point surface by using drilling depth of a stratum or to time values of to map. Depth-time and time-depth conversions are achieved by making both multi-borehole data correlation and restrained iterative computations of depths or time values at computation points with the use of velocity data of VSP and synthetic seismic data. The method gives high accuracy, and it is reliable and practical to computerized seismic data interpretation.
