Abstract:Without restriction of log data, adaptive unrestricted inversion of reflection coefficients involves estimating anti-operator at each point of seismogram, then conducting recursive convolution at the point so as to adapt to seismic wavelet variadons at different depths. As a result, this method offers much better reflection coefficients than ordinary segmental pulse deconvolution does. Reflectioncoefficient sections produced by this method show clear laminations, minor sand bodies, small faults and small structures, with resolution of 1/4 wavelength. The method is particularly favourable to weak reflection horizons. The method applies to migrated seismic section, and it requires that high-cutoff frequency is not below 50 Hz.
