Abstract:Based on the detailed analysis on reservoir physical properties of gas-field in the study area and by the analysis to AVO forward modeling result, the idea that the gas saturation can not be accurately predicted if merely to study seismic amplitude variation is achieved in this paper. The sensitiveness of the elastic impedance to the gas saturation was studied in detail, sensitive elastic impedance in the study area was optimized, the elastic impedance threshold value for the gas layer was determined, and the concept of sensitive angle elastic impedance and basic inversion workflow were proposed. The application and analysis results for sensitive angle elastic impedance inversion of the field data in the study area show that the 27 degree elastic impedance used to conduct fluid prediction is effective and feasible.
