Abstract:Joint inversion of seismic and gravimetric data can be made by using the relation between velocity and density.2 examples are given here.In the first example, the observed gravimetric data are repeatedly taken from a given stratigraphic model to form a system of linear quations;then we solved the system of linear equations by singularalue decomposition and so on to get density range(equation solution), from which the optimum solution can be chosen successfully. In the second one, with the use of the relation between interval velocity and density,we do joint inversion of seismic two-way travel times and observed gravimetric data to obtain the resuits which are similar to seismic interpretation results.
