Abstract:In general formation pressure prediction using seismic data, the needed velocity data are taken from velocity spectrum, and the density data are derived from empiric formula.Such density data fail to incarnate lateral lithology variation.Especially this method only applies to single borehole prediction,so the predicted formation pressure is not accurate enough. My formation pressure prediction by seismic inversion needs an initial lithology model and uses logging data as inversion constraint to evaluate formation physical-data,which are then used to draw predicted formation pressure section.Real examples show that this new method gives accurate formation pressure prediction, showing lateral pressure variation.
