Travel-time computation based on linear interpolation and narrow-band technique

Abstract:In order to solve the problem that it is difficult to deal with both the computational precision and efficiency in travel-time computation,the paper presented a new travel-time computation based on linear interpolation and narrow-band technique that uses linear interpolation to implement local travel-time computation and narrow-band technique to simulate the propagating process of wavefront. The numeric analysis showed that both computational precision and efficiency are higher than first-order and second-order finite-difference algorithm based narrow-band technique; it is proved the feasibility of the method by numeric computation of some typical complex velocity models and good adaptability for complex velocity model.
