Abstract:Micromagnetic anomaly can be separated from strong background field by applying wavenurnber-domain up-down continuation to the processing of aeromagneticdata in L area.We have found three regular micromagnetic anomaly belts in thearea:the north anomaly belt due to Permian volcanic rocks, the south anomaly belt resulting from magnetic layer in sedimentary series, and the rnid anomaly belt that is usually coincident with known oil fields.Data processing result shows that the mid micromagnetic anomaly belt stretches eastward to the place far away from the known oil fields,so the stretch part of the belt may be the most favourable area where hydrocarbon accumulations will be discovered hereafter.
