Abstract:The main factor affecting the quality of seismic data in Niubei areais the existence of many random high frequency noises。To eliminate them by narrow band filtering will lower the resolution of seismic dataand 2D filtering before stack proves to be of no avail in eliminatingthem; however, 2D filtering after stack can result in very good elimi-nating effect, The proper use of 2D filtering after stack requires theoptimum choose of apparent velocity range for eliminating,filteringoperator and attenuation D.C.component.
