Abstract:The electric imaging technique of vertical line power depends on supplying power by cased well, which not only is feasible for field operation, but also can greatly increase the surveying depth and imaging precision and implement operation without affecting normal production of oil well. The method is especially suitable for monitoring the water-injection front advance in oil-producing and studying the distribution of the remaining oil in the late stage of oil-fields development. Starting from the feature of electric field of well-ground pattern, the paper introduced the imaging theory of the technique, and selected 15 cased wells in S oilfield as power-supply electrodes, deploying 18 radiated surveying electrode lines around each cased well and forming 6~8 concentric circles to carry out survey separately and integrate each surveyed result together, gained the distribution of water saturation of oil reservoir, It is shown by comparison with the practical distribution of water saturation in the region that the electric imaging technique has broad application prospect in oilfield development.
