Abstract:The paper introduced the basic principles of adaptive L-order statistic filter based on local statistic properties of signals and the features of suppression of Gaussian noise and pulse disturbance. In order to strengthen the capability of filter protecting the detail of seismic events, the paper combined the adaptive L-order statistic filter with weighted mediate filter. To deal with real seismic data, the paper also studied estimation of noise variance on seismic sections, computation of adaptive coefficients and design of weights in weighted mediate filtering respectively. By using developed as- sociated software, the test of the method by real data showed the method is effective and practical.
