Abstract:Numerical computation procedure for decomposing the plane waves in point source seismic records consists of Fourier transform and Hankel transform.Formu- lae for forward and inverse τ-p transform in frequency domain can be obtained by approximating Bessel function in Hankel transform.The process can be speeded up by adopting two-dimensional fast Fourier transform(FFT)algorithm,so that not only the efficiency is 20 times higher than ordinary slant stacking algorithm in time domain but also much less internal storage is used.Forward plus inverse τ-p trans- form algorithms and τ-p hyperbolic velocity filtering are combined into a special pro-cessing module in frequency domain.The processing results of synthetic and real seismic records show this technique very effective in removing many noises,includ- ing random noise.
