Abstract:Band-constrained inversion is a new inversion method developed in recent years seismic exploration. It reasonably combines seismic datalogging data with priori geological knowledge to form an optimum wide band acoustic impedance model, by which geologists can make better description and lateral prediction of hydrocarbon reservoir. Band-constrained inversion is detailedly described in both principle and methodology. Theoretical and practical experimental results are presented here. It is shown that the band-constrained inversion is more superior to existing deconvolution method and generalized linear inversion method, even has the virtues the others don t have at all in the case of more well data in an area. Band-constrained inversion is an useful method for making wave impedance in high accuracy and high resolution.
