Abstract:Seismic data quality depends on the geometry. At present, most of geometry evaluation methods takes only one aspect in seismic survey. Therefore, we propose in this paper a comprehensive quality factor for geometry evaluation. This approach combines a set of acquisition attributes such as geometry fold, offset and azimuth distribution characteristics, offset non-uniformity coefficient, etc. OBC field acquisition was conducted with four common geometries and four different receiver line spacing, and then we analyze factors and their variation characteristics which influence the comprehensive quality factor. Results show that the proposed approach provides a new way of geometry quality quantitative evaluation.
