Abstract:Obvious footprints are seen on seismic data in Tabei MS Survey, Tarim Basin, which affects target (Ordovicion carbonate) imaging. These are caused by large source and receiver line spacing and low signal noise ratio. This paper proposes two strategies to suppress footprints through seismic processing. One is based on combination of some techniques, such as data regularization, 4D RNA, and poststack noise elimination. This method moves the footprint suppression from poststack stage to restack stage, and it cannot completely eliminate footprints. The other is based on combined both 5D interpolation for source and receiver lines, and migration in the OVT domain. This approach simulates seismic acquisition with half source and receiver line spacing, so it removes causes of footprints. Processing results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.
