Prediction of high-quality reservoir characteristics and distribution in the area LA

Abstract:Tight reservoirs of the member 8 of Shihezi Formation in the area LA,Eastern Ordos Basin belong to the fluvial sedimentary system. These glutenite reservoirs are characterized by low porosity and low permeability,thin beds,and laterally quick change. How to depict the high-quality reservoir distribution in the area is a real problem. Firstly,we build the classification criteria of reservoirs in this area based on lithological,lithofacies,well logging,and test data. Then we specify optimum geophysical parameters to identify high-quality reservoirs with the analysis of their facies and rock physic characteristics. Finaly,we obtain high-quality reservoir characteristics and predict their distribution,and points out favorable exploration targets using the extended elastic impedance inversion and stochastic inversion,and the sequential Gauss simulation.
