Abstract:Fault transition zones and fracture non-closure parts are hydrocarbon migration by fracture lateral connections.According to the characteristics of the fracture displacement-distance curves,in the same fracture the fracture distance at the middle is larger and the fracture distance at the ends is smaller.On this basis we can determine the location of the fracture transition zone.If the mudstone content in a fracture zone is less than the minimum filling content required for hydrocarbon sealing at a specific position,then this position is a lateral non-closure part of the fracture.The hydrocarbon migration path along sand bodies is determined according to the normal convergence extension direction of hydrocarbon potential contours.By superimposing lateral hydrocarbon migration paths,fault transition zones,and lateral non-closure parts,we can determine that a fault lateral hydrocarbon migration path is a fault transition zone or a fracture non-closure part.The above-mentioned prediction method is applied to Jizhong Sag,Bohai Bay Basin.Based on our research results,lateral-connected hydrocarbon migration paths in Es1,Es2 of Wen'an Slope are mainly fault transition zones,and one part of this fault transition zone is also a fracture non-closure part,which is better for lateral-connected hydrocarbon migration; only a few of fracture lateral migration sites are lateral non-closure parts,which are favorable for hydrocarbon migration and accumulation.Our prediction is well-consistent with geology of the discoveries in the area.
