Abstract:In the southern Songliao Basin,the Putaohua formation belongs to the shallow lacustrine delta sedimentary facies and developed underwater distributary channels.Influenced by the lake water power,channel sands were sheeted to different levels.This type of sheeted distributary channel sands is very difficult to be characterized with conventional interpretation tools.We conduct channel sand prediction with the texture attribute provided by GeoEast.Underwater distributary channels are depicted with the texture attribute; and reservoir sedimentation and structures are characterized by image recognition.The texture contrast highlights the amplitude of seismic reflections on channel sands.Finally sheeted distributary channel sands and their distribution are well-characterized and our characterization is consistent with micro-facies classification from well data.
