Abstract:In the seismic data processing, local weak amplitude is often occurred by special geological conditions such as "gas clouds", which affects data interpretation. To solve this problem, we propose in this paper a method for amplitude correction based on the residual Q value. Based on amplitude at different frequency in a small window, the residual Q value at a weak amplitude area in a large window is estimated. Then frequency attenuation and amplitude loss are recovered. This method only aims at local weak amplitude correction and wave characteristics at the other area remain the same. Real data applications prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
