Abstract:Carboniferous strata in Zhongguai Uplift, Junggar Basin were divided into different fault reservoirs, which have different oil-water interfaces. These fault reservoirs controlled by faults and fractures with bottom water are difficult to be identified. To solve the problem, we carry out fault and fracture identification with interpretation tools provided by GeoEast such as coherence and variance cube, structural curvature cube, multi-window dip scanning, structure-guided filtering, coherence-energy gradient calculation, ant cube tracking, and edge detection. Faults and fractures with different grades and stages are identified, and fault and fracture areas for the future development are predicted. The fault and fracture identification approach with multi-attributes has obtained more success than a single attribute, which lays a good foundation for the hydrocarbon exploration in Carboniferous in Zhongguai Uplift, Junggar Basin.
