Abstract:FKSUB method for eliminating any regular noises has been formed by fitting the variational regularities of apparent dip and amplitude of regular noise leg with the use of orthogonal polynomials, and using the narrow reject-band 2-D filtering technique whose filter operator varies with time and space. FKSUB method is only applied to the data in a local area of a seismic section. To speak exactly, in a given window, FKSUB method removes regular noise by using the differences between regular noise and signal in three aspects: apparent velocity, frequency and arnplitude. Two years application proves FKSUB method obviously effective. It can elirninate any regular noises in prestack and poststack sections, and favour high fidelity, following special processing and modification of the seismic sections.
