Abstract:In shear wave splitting research using multicomponent VSP data, wave characteristic in surface layer and source behaviour influence greatly the anisotropy interpretation of objective interval. A surface layer correction algorithm for multisource and multicomponent VSP data has been developed on the basis of multicomponent vector cotwolution model. It may be used to remove some negative influences of scattering, multiple wave and inhomogeneity in surface layer when people don't know the detailed data of surface layer. It also favours eliminating the negative influence caused by source errors such as source strength error, source orientation error and so on in seismic data acquisition. The trial of synthetic seismogram proves this algorithm feasible.
