Abstract:The conventional induced polarization logging tools can only measure the secondary field potential attenuation at the time when the excitation electric field is off.It can not measure the complete induced polarization potential attenuation spectra with the time. This paper presents our own developed logging method by which the continuous induced polarization potential attenuation spectra can be recorded. The array composite electrode structure was adopted in this method,Single Chip Microcomputer was used to control the electrode for stimulating and collecting data. With this method the complete induced polarization potential attenuation spectra were measured.By using the logging prototype developed in this method the complete induced polarization potential attenuation spectra with time were measured. The information contents acquired with this method are much more than using the conventional induced polarization logging tools.
