Hydrocarbon prediction based on multi-wave data in Sanhu area

Abstract:When subsurface layers contain natural gas,structure imaging distortion on P wave seismic sections occurs with P wave energy absorption.This is one of limitations of P wave seismic exploration.But converted wave(P-S wave) is affected much less by fluid in layers,and could be used with P wave to effectively decrease multiple solutions.The article provides a successful example of using multi-wave seismic attributes to reservoir characterization and hydrocarbon prediction through synthetics of P-S wave and registration of P wave and P-S wave based on high quality of multi-wave seismic data in Sanhu area,Qaidam Basin.Recent drilling results show the effectiveness of this method in the area.
