Precise evaluation of Cretaceous favorable exploration targets in Ya’erxia block by GeoEast’s efficient interpretation technologies

Abstract:The Ya’erxia block has complex fractures, vertically superposed sand bodies, and strong horizontal heterogeneity, and the effective reservoirs of glutenite with dissolved pores are difficult to predict, which are the main problems confronted by the exploration and development in this area. Hence, this paper comprehensively uses GeoEast’s multi-window dip scanning, structure-oriented filtering, and coherent attributes. On the basis of known fracture development characteristics, we use fluid activity, hydrocarbon detection, and BP neural network inversion to carry out the fine description of the fan interior and the prediction of 'sweet spot areas'.The exploration and evaluation wells based on the prediction results have successively obtained industrial oil flow, and the production of development wells has been put into operation, with the crude oil production of reservoirs increasing significantly. This indicates that efficient exploration and beneficial development are achieved. In addition, the combination of fine structural interpretation and multi-attribute joint analysis can be used to quantitatively identify structural-lithologic oil and gas reservoirs, which is an effective method to predict complex reservoirs such as glutenite with dissolved pores.
