Abstract:Due to complicated surface conditions, the seismic data of Qaidam Basin has a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and hence, data with a higher SNR is in urgent need. The simply structured study area is dominated by lithological hydrocarbon reservoirs with thin layers, which can hardly be predicted given the seismic data. Moreover, drilled wells are unevenly distributed in this area, and the understanding of the sedimentary facies zone is insufficient. GeoEast, developed by BGP Inc., is a large software system integrating seismic data processing and interpretation. In this paper, GeoEast is used for comprehensive seismic geology interpretation in the Xiandong area of the Qaidam Basin, which has achieved good application results in seismic data interpretation, attribute analysis, and hydrocarbon detection. In addition, it boasts prominent effects in research on the fine structure and hydrocarbon distribution laws in the study area, which provides a reference for the search for favorable hydrocarbon areas. GeoEast, a fully functional integrated interpretation platform, has a wide application scope and outstanding application effects in multi-attribute comprehensive analysis.
