Application of carbonate reservoir identification and comprehensive prediction technology in Block Nahaidiin, UAE

Abstract:Block Nahaidiin is located in the western platform edge of Mishrif in UAE,where the lithologic and stratigraphic traps are developed,and the drilling reveals that oil and gas are concentrated in high-energy platform edge with granular beach facies and inner platform with beach facies limestone.However,due to the strong heterogeneity of carbonate lithology and rapid lateral change,accurate reservoir prediction is extremely difficult,which restricts the hydrocarbon exploration and deployment of the Nahaidiin block.This paper starts with seismic data,comprehensively utilizes seismic,drilling,logging,and oil test data,and summarizes a set of comprehensive prediction technologies suitable for carbonate reservoirs in this area,which has guided the subsequent exploration and deployment of the Nahaidiin block and has certain guiding for oil and gas exploration in other similar areas.
