Abstract:The paper presented a new mixed phase encoding technique allowing a part of phases to depend on frequency and another part of phases to be independent of frequency,which used for pre-stack depth migration on areal shot records combining with controlled illumination that can not only double and redouble the efficiency of migration on areal shot records,but also decrease man-made errors produced by phase encoding,resulted in a new fast pre-stack depth migration on areal shot records.Based on the recursive continuation of wavefield,the method has higher imaging quality.Because of using both migration technique on areal shot records that is more efficient than at single shot records and phase encoding technology,the method approximately gained pre-stack depth migration results of multiple areal shot records by using a computational effort correspond to pre-stack depth migration on an areal shot record produced by a plane-wave source,having a character of high-efficiency.The trial results both using Marmousi mode1 data and field P-wave data coming from Mexico sea-bottom cable show the correctness,effectiveness and practicability of the method.
