Abstract:Field MT data obtained in mountain region are inevitably effected by different interferences, topography and local anomalous body, conventional techniques hardly meet the requirements for MT data processing and interpretation in mountain region. The paper demonstrated the fine MT data processing technique in mountain region which has improvements mainly in three aspects as compared with conventional processing: (1) fine identification of the TE and TM polarization diagrams; (2) fine 2 D inversion; (3) interactive processing and interpretation between electrical prospecting and geology. Real data processing shows that interpretation using fine processing can result in a good geoelectric profile as compared with conventional technique.
