Abstract:The instantaneous attribute analysis of seismic traces is usually achieved by using two methods,namely Hilbert transform in time domain and continuous wavelet transform. The operational efficiency and accuracy of above two methods are not satisfactory. The instantaneous attribute analysis method based on orthogonal basis of compact supported wavelets,which uses characteristic of orthogonal basis of Daubechies' compact supported wavelets,expresses both Hilbert operator and one- order differential operator in mufti-resolution space,so that it analyses the instantaneous attributes of seismic traces in mufti-resolution space. The new method has advantages of fast operation,high accuracy and good noise elimination. The advantages are fully proved by computation examples in this paper.
