Abstract:By using the forward modeling theory of elastic wave field in directionally-fractured medium,we have ascertained absorbing boundary condition of anisotropic medium,and synthesized the surface-seismic and VSP data which result from same geologic model but reflect different fracture properties(or density).The analysis leads to the conclusion:·Wave field in fluid-filled fracture medium is very different from the wave field in dry crack medium.·Very obvious shear wave splitting happens in dry crack medium.·Wave splitting is related to fracture density,denser fractures causing more obvious splitting.·Synthetic surface seismic data show more obvious converted一wave splitting than synthetic VSP data,but less obvious reflected shear wave splitting than the VSP data.
