Abstract:Bandlimited reflection waveform analysis based on forward seismic modeling is a new lateral reservoir prediction. First reflection waveform characteristic parameters that exhibit lithologic variation are determined by defining geological characters of seismic horizon with the aid of waveform analysis. Then,the lateral reservoir prediction is accomplished using multivariate data cluster analysis and gray system theory.The prediction of both distribution and thickness variation of the second member Furring biological limestone in F anticline in J depression in Jiangsu Province is taken as an example to show how reflection waveform analysis is done.
