Abstract:The exploration and oil-field development in structural-complicated area requires still higher accuracy of three-dimensional seismic exploration, Three-dimensional wave equation depth migration is the only way, to correctly image the reflections from the area where complicated structures and strong velocity variation occur, It can offer accurate three-dimensional oil and gas traps, Using three-dimensional wave equation forward-modeling, people can make numerical modeling of subsurface geological model to offer effective informations for describing oil pools. With the aid of splitting-up method, two-dimensional depth wave field continuation method which results in high accuracy, low dispersion and no boundary reflection in frequency-space domain can be applied to three-dimensional wave field continuation. The continuations in CMP direction (x direction) and line direction (y direction) are respectiveiy performed using two-dimensional operator within each continuation step. This method uses single-step wave field continuation; therefore, it is an accurate algo: ithm for the continuation of the three-dimensional stacked wave field whose velocity varies in lateral and vertical directions, It can be used in three-dimensional forward and inverse modelings.
