Application of Difference Interval Velocity Analysis(DIVA) technology in Tenere area

Abstract:In Tenere area,the seismic velocity generally shows the increasing trend with depth,but only in small local region in the area the velocity decreases very rapidly,therefore the DIVA technique was applied in oilgas detection in the area. The double critical DIVA technique detection was conducted for 5 geological intervals on 4 well blocks,indicating the uniqueness of this technique. The application effect is even better,especially under the conditions of small lateral changes in lithology. The accuracy of the technique mainly depends on the velocity spectrum picking-up accuracy,horizon interpretation accuracy and the background velocity picking-up accuracy.
