Abstract:A finite element appraximation far solvng initial baundary problem of acoustic variable-velocity wave equation can be applied to the modeling and migration of surfieial seismic rata,offset VSP data and crosshole seismic data,In forward modeling,seismic source is simulated by giving displacement boundary eanditicn in form of time function,The migration algorithm is alike to that in finite difference method.The oh-sorption boundary condition far suppressing reflections from artificial boandary of computational model is newly designed.It is very easy to combine the absorption boundary condition with finite element equation by adopting load vector integration.This algorithm is suitable to finite element calculation.Synthetic data show that the integrity and resolution of seismic migration images can be significantly improved using muitiple seismic observation data,such as simultaneous use of surface seismic data and crosshole seismic data.
