Abstract:Geophysical fields have similar properties in some ways, and they can be converted each other under certain conditions. Therefore, both the convolution method for, seismic data processing and the tangent method for magnetic data interpretation can be used in the processing and interpretation of gravimetric data. The procedure is as follows: 1. the first derivatives of gravity anomalies of geological bodies designed with different parameters are used as wavelets;2. convolute each wavelet with the gravity observations of a real geological body respectively;3. use the maximum pcak value of convolution reszzltu to locate the anomalous body;4. determine the depth of the anoynalous body by tangent method. The computation and analysis show that when wavelet parameters are consistent with that of geological body, the convolution curve has quite g god S/N ratio, and the calculated depth of geological body is rather accurate. Generally speaking, the geometric parameters of waveIet and the density of geological body cause Iess influence on the calculated depth.
