Abstract:Given a initial model,one can calculate the gravity anomaly caused by a undulate subsurface interface.The upward continuation of this gravity anomaly is made to obtain converted surface gravity anomaly,which is then carnpared with observed gravity anomaly so as to have correction values.The correction values are used to modify the initial model.Modifications are iteratively made,until the model is satisfactory.Fourier transform makes the upward continuation computation performed in frequency domain so that the computation is simplified and speeded up greatly,The rnethad for modifying the initial average depth is recommended.The trial computation of theoretical model shows that good inversion result can be obtained when density contrast between media at the both sides of the interface is quite stable.
