Abstract:Spectrum expansion method, a new method for improving the resolution of mufti-trace signals, is put forward in this paper. This method is performed in the following steps:(1) take the peak frequency fp, on the amplitude spectrum obtained after mufti-trace signal extraction, then convert it into dominant frequency fd; <2> change the spectrum of signals into a symmetric triangular spectrum of which the peak is fd9 then shift fd of the symmetric triangular spectrum to its is time position on the frequency axis, that is to say, the frequency band is expanded to k times of its original width so that the seismic signals whose resolution is (k-1) times higher than before are obtained; (3) put the seismic signals whose resolution is (k-1) times higher than before back to their proper positions according to their normal moveouts and the centre position of the window where signals are picked, and pack zeroes on signal-free positions. Thus, the random-noise-free high resolution seismic records are obtained whose resolution can be controiled by k.
