Abstract:This paper presents a method for estimating seismic wavelet from seismic record by homomorphic theory.The concrete procedure of this method is,first,to choose a longer record segment whose seismic wavelet is stable on a single trace(or several traces),secondly,to make several shorter time windows,multiplied by a proper window function,at different locations of the record segment(or several segments),thirdly,to take the arithmetical mean of its logarithmic spectra as the logarithmic spectrum of seismic wavelet and finally,to obtain the estimation value of seismic wavelet by applying inverse homomorphic process.The experiments on artificial synthetic seismogram and actual seismic records show that this method is of practical use in proper accuracy range.
