Abstract:The adoption of Crout decomposition method gives satisfactory result in studying, by finite element method, the telluric electromagnetic sounding curve taken from 2-D structure. This method may both adopt 1-D compact storage and make solution black by block, so that yve can make full use of the storage unit of a computer without considering the computation trouble caused by too many meshes. In this paper, we describe the principle of designing mesh and experiment on horst model. The experiment result conforms with that presented in literature [5] and [6]. At the conclusion of the paper, we show the procedure which should be followed in the interpretation of actual telluric electromagnetic sounding curve.
