Abstract:The gas-bearing reservoirs with low porosity and permeability in north Ordos basin have following characters: (1)the lithologic pinchout and physical variation in reservoirs control the accumulation and generation of reservoirs while the structures do not control the accumulation of natural gas; (2)thin reservoir accompanied with coal seam and unclearly identified marks of reservoir; (3)the velocity of gas-bearing sandstone approaches to that of mudstone (small wave impedance difference between gas-bearing sandstone and mudstone). In view of the characters of gas-bearing reservoirs, the paper presented geostatistic wave impedance inversion, joint inversion including lithology and porosity inversions and concluded following knowledge: (1) the porosity is sensitive parameter reflecting gas-bearing reservoir; (2)geostatistic wave impedance inversion can improve the resolution and is effective measure to identify the coal seam and limestone with high velocity; (3)the lithologic inversion can identify sandstone, lithology-constrained sandstone porosity inversion can identify the gas-bearing reservoir from sandstone. The application of integrative inversion technique presented in the paper achieved good effects in the description of gas-bearing reservoirs with low porosity and permeability in north Ordos basin and increased predicted precision of reservoirs.
