Abstract:The interrelation between electromagnetic wave and seismic wave is demonstrated on the basis of wave theory. By using mathematic interconversion relation between nonperiodic signal and periodic signal, electromagnetic field theory, as well as mapping and transform techniques, we convert a diffusive electromagnetic field into the wave field that satisfies acoustic wave equations, so that electromagnetic wave field problem is changed into a pseudo seismic wave field problem. It is also testified that a diffusive field is essentially the sum of wave fields. The electromagnetic wave equation derived from the conversion is used to model 2D resistivity distribution responses (namely.the pseudo section of electromagnetic field) by finite element method, which means electromagnetic data migration can be simulated into seismic data migration. The electromagnetic wave equation analogous to seismic wave equation is proved to be feasible.
