Q migration of low-SNR seismic data for viscoelastic media in Southern Junggar Basin

Abstract:Surface and subsurface geological conditions in the southern margin of Junggar Basin are very complex,and seismic signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is rather low.In this case,conventional prestack depth migration hardly makes imaging improvement.To overcome the problem,we propose a new strategy with processing tools provided by GeoEast System.First,an appropriate velocity model for the study area is established by means of velocity updating such as horizontal,vertical,and grid tomography,and TTI anisotropic velocity corrections provided by GeoEast-Diva.On GeoEast-Lightning,a tomographic inversion quality factor Q and viscous medium Q migration are use to achieve amplitude compensation,frequency recovery,and phase correction in order to improve the migration imaging resolution.The results show that Q migration for viscous media improves effectively the imaging quality of prestack depth migration,provides reli-able basic data for geological research,and strongly supports hydrocarbons exploration in the southern margin of Junggar Basin.
