Abstract:The lithology and rock facies around a well can be predicated by extrapolating knownwell informations with the aid of seismic data. VSP technique makes seismic lithology predication more reliable. One dimensional model caxi also be used to predicate the lithology and rock fades of formation. To design a desirable one dimensional model, the seismic interpreter will have a good understanding of seismic responses of various formations in the studied prospect, plot V-H design curves relating to aIl kinds of lithology involved;lithology-composite model on the basis of analysis of seismic sections and sonic characters of known integrated rocks;·make synthetic seismic records and compare them with real seismic records;·reproduce the synthetic seismic records by modifying the lithology-composite model and sonic data of rocks until the synthetic records bear the best resemblance to the real ones. In making synthetic seismic record, multiples arid transmission loss are not taken into account, and Rickerwavelet is used. This method can be performed on microcomputer because of its simplicity and convenience.
