Abstract:Takelamagan desert is the second biggest desert in the world, where the highest sand-dune may be 300m or so.In this area, the tough short-wavelength static correction has been coped with quite desirably;so the main troubles are low signal/noise ratio and low resolution of seismic data. After the detailed analyses of seismic data in the area,we put forward a new method,sand-dune Q absorption compensation based on 1-D elastic damping wave theory. The method removes the difficulty in deriving wavelets from low signal/noise ratio data, avoids the influences resulting from the variations of sand-dune undulation, shot depth, energy and frequency. So it can rely on the physical mechanism of sand-dune undulation to compensate the Q absorption variation that results from sand-dune undulation.Quite good outcome has been obtained in real data processing.
