Pre-stack full waveform inversion for reservoir prediction

Abstract:Full waveform inversion uses complete prestack seismic waveform to extract horizon elastic parameters.More lithology information such as acoustic and shear wave impedance,Poisson ratio,can be simultaneously retrieved with this method.Spatial distribution of reservoirs and gas-pays can further be predicted with pore structure dynamics analysis and multi-parameter clustering analysis.Applications of full waveform inversion in Zhenzhuchong members in YB district,Sichuan Basin show that this method has successfully predicted complex terrestrial tight gas sand reservoir and gas-pay zone in the region.
